CLAYPOT GULAI PATIN TEMPOYAK TERMERLOH

EATING HEAVEN :   Our taman TTDI Jaya Shah Alam is an eating heaven. There are at least 30 eating places in our neighbourhood alone. This is to cater the gastronomy desire of the population of 9000 plus minus residence here.

Choices are plenty - from your favourite mamak stall, east coast delicacies, Arab food, Thai food, humble nasi lemak, western food, char kway teow, southern food , etc.

Big names that operates 24 hours a day Shaz Restaurant, Makbul, are indications of the people staying here has got the nocturnal eating habit in wee hours. It could also be a medium of easy hangout to socialise and catchup on the latest gossips that need to be confirmed.

CLAY POT. This is the Clay pot Gulai Patin Tempoyak Termerloh - quite mouthful to pronounce and quite mouthful to eat too. It is because you are enjoying it.

The price as per above RM14.90 per complete set. When you pay exactly RM15.00 ( keep the change lah  10 sen only ).

What actually can you get for less than RM15.00 a complete decent meal in an air con environment & good ambiance within the neighbourhood.  I ordered the Claypot Gulai Patin Tempoyak which comes in three choices the head, body or tail. I prefer the body as it is more meaty in flesh. The head somehow does not goes well visually as it look like a snake head fish ( Ikan Toman ) and where else the tail less flesh to me.

Anyway your meat is my poison and vice verse. Just go there and eat and be merry.

SET A MENU : This is what you get when you ordered a set meal. It come with salted egg, a slice of cucumber, fresh salad, anchovies, dried chili sambal, sirap selaseh & a cup of jelly desert. Of cause the room temperature drinking water is at your disposal for free. In mamak shop a glass of drinking water will cost you 30 sen.

The rice served are fluffy and correctly cooked. It is not sticky nor dry hard. The `hotness` chili taste can be overwhelming on certain days - it all depends on the chef.   We must understand that the chef are human and subject to emotions of the day.

Should he wake up on the wrong side of the bed in the morning, I guess it will be a bit hot on the dishes. If he wake up on happy mood - the taste will be marvellous. But if he did not wake up - we shall eat elsewhere. The choice is yours.

Another signature dish at this place is the Set C - Claypot Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api. This Claypot Daging Salai has got this meaty sour distintive taste that sent some kind of signals to the brain that our great great great grandmother was a great master chef even before Anthony Bourdain was born. This is another must try item whenever you have that desire of red meat alternative.

CONCLUSION :  This is one dish that you need to enjoy till the last spoon. If you intend to bring a companion who will be watching her calories plus fat intake and all that medical phobia stuff - don`t waste your time.

This Claypot Gulai Patin Tempoyak are painstakingly cooked with fresh Patin fish added with a plenty of chef love and served to you in politeness manners  that will put some restaurant to shame.

THE GOOD - THE BAD & THE UGLY
Food : It taste very good to me and I love it. If you are in disagreement with me - well go eat elsewhere or order a Pizza.

Cleanliness: This place is clean. The moment you step into this restaurant up to the kitchen area. No rubbish whatsoever.

Decoration :  Lovely & cosy.

Price : Value for money. Transparent & no  6% GST !

Parking : Ample parking - no question of squeezing your car with motorbikes etc.

Operating hours : Sad note guys. They are closed for dinner. Alternatively - if we can collect 1,490 genuine signatures from the residents here,  we might be able to handover this memorandum of " United Gulai Patin Tempoyak Lover Group "  to this restaurant owner and for him to consider extending their operating hours until 10.30 pm daily. This will do the trick - i believe. Chuckle.
